A landscape above the city

The Urban Glen proposes a sky bridge and public landscape in Campo di Marte, Florence. Cafés, parks, walking routes, and a running path bring different forms of everyday activity into the elevated structure.

Re-establishing a centre

The project looks back to a radial urban pattern and uses a central theatre and square as the focus of the design. Routes and social spaces extend from this centre into the surrounding streets.

Green corridors, pedestrian connections, and changes to the existing street pattern are studied together with the bridge. The drawings examine how new public space can sit within the existing city.

This is a collaborative project by Hense Zhang and Yang Zhuoyue. The original portfolio drawing set retains the project’s team and tutor credits.
